Symptom

Clicking the verification link in your welcome email produces an error page reading "Your email address could not be verified."

The short answer

In most cases, your email address actually was verified successfully despite the error message. The message is misleading and, alas, isn't under our control. If you get this message, we suggest that you try logging in to your account. If you get in without being asked to verify again, you are verified and can stop here.

If you cannot log in, or if you are still being prompted to verify your email, find your situation below.

What's causing the error?

Situation What happened What to do
The link has already been used Verification links are single-use. The first click verifies your email and consumes the link. Any subsequent click — including a double-click, clicking from a second device, or even interference caused by some corporate email security features — produces this error even though verification already succeeded. Try logging in. If it works, you are verified.
The link expired before you clicked it Verification links expire after a limited time. If the email sat unread for several days, the link may have timed out. Contact DataPulse support and request a new verification link. Include the email address your account is registered under.
None of the above apply If you clicked promptly on a personal email address and this was your first click, something else may have gone wrong. Contact DataPulse support with: your registered email address; the approximate time you received the email and when you clicked; and whether you read email in a browser, desktop app, or mobile app.

Next step for enterprise accounts

If your account was provisioned by DataPulse (rather than created through self-serve signup), you will need to set a password before you can log in — even once verification is confirmed. Follow the Getting Started With your DataPulse Account guide for instructions.
